Cláudia Ribeiro
costume designer, props and teacher

Born in Mirandela, Trás-os-Montes, 1972, Cláudia came to Porto to study art in 1986 at the Soares dos Reis art school. She then took a professional course in Scenography and Costumes at the Contemporary Academy of Spectacle. After winning a scholarship from António de Almeida Foundation, she went to London to attend the higher education course in Costumes and Props at the Wimbledon School of Art. She returned to Porto in 1994 and joined the wardrobe coordinator of São João National Theater. She left in 2007 to deepen her work as a creative in costumes and props, which she was already developing in parallel with her work at São João National Theater.

From the most diverse authors, to the most diverse performing arts, always in the area of costumes and props, she worked with personalities in the fields of theater, music, opera, ballet, television and cinema, João Paulo Costa, Luís Blat, Isabel Alves Costa, João Grosso, Jorge Pinto, Hélder Costa, António Durães, Joaquim Nicolau, Rui Sérgio Barroca Mateus, Norma Silvestre, João Paulo Seara Cardoso, Isabel Barros, Paulo Castro, José Carlos Garcia, Rui Melo, Magna Ferreira, João Mota, José Rui Martins, Xico Alves, João Paulo Seara Cardoso, Daniela Pêgo, Pedro Saavedra, José Carretas, Rui Oliveira, Ana Saltão, Rafael Barreto, Bruno Martins, Sara Henriques, among others. She now continues to develop her work as a creator and teaches several fine arts area disciplines in the Scenography Design course at Esmae in the technological area at the Soares dos reis Art school.
