Inês Mota

Inês Mota graduated in 2016 from the Scenography course at the School of Music and Performing Arts (ESMAE), Porto. Currently, she is doing a six months long internship with the Red Ladder Theatre Company, in Leeds, through the Erasmus+ programme, which also enabled her to attend the Libera Accademia di Belle Arti, at Brescia, Italy, for the last semester of her BA. Her love of theatre was born while she was studying Theatre Design at ESSR (Escola Secundária Artística de Soares dos Reis – Soares dos Reis School of Arts) secondary school, in Porto.
In 2015, her work was shown in the Student section of the APCEN exhibition at the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space, as part of the ID(Entity)BOX project. In 2014, she worked on building the sets for the final show at SET (Semana das Escolas de Teatro – Theatre Schools Week). She volunteered at FIMP (Festival International de Marionetas do Porto – International Puppet Festival in Porto) in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Inês Mota participated on the 2013 edition of Serralves em Festa, with a body puppets theatre project, Damas, Donzelas e Princesas, as part of her training from ESSR, and collaborated in the community project Bicho de Sete Cabeças (2012), created by the Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora, where she participated in building and manipulating the heads of the titular seven-headed creature.
