Set and Costume Designer, Secondary School Teacher
Rita Anahory was born in Lisbon, in 1989. Early in her life, she decided to pursue a career in the arts, and attended the Theatre Design course at António Arroio secondary school, in Lisbon, where she currently teaches Costume Design.
Having obtained a BA in Scenography from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon, she had previously enrolled at the Arts and Design School at Caldas da Rainha, where she attended classes for two years in Environment Design.
In 2010, she studied for a year at Nottingham under the Erasmus program, where she was enrolled at Trent University, specialising in Puppetry and Speculative Design.
A former member of the Plataforma285 theatre company, where she oversaw Set and Costume Design, as well as props, she has also collaborated with MONSTRA – Lisbon Animation Festival, working in scenography as well as designing the awards.
Rita Anahory has worked with the Chapitô association in Trupe Sénior, a project dedicated to the elderly population, where she was in charge of creating sets, costumes and props for the shows.
Since 2015, she has been teaching at António Arroio secondary school, as well as carrying out other artistic endeavours.
