Tiago Pinhal Costa
Architect / Set and Costume Designer

Born in Matosinhos, in 1984. He is an architect who lives and works in Lisbon. Graduated in Architecture from the University of Minho (DAAUM), he attended the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (FAU-UFRJ). As an architect, he has worked with Architect Paulo Henriques Ferreira (Porto) and extrastudio. Since 2010, and currently works at Coporgest SA (Lisbon). From 2011 to 2016, he was a representative at the Regional Section of the Ordem dos Arquitectos (Portuguese Architects Association). As a Set Designer he created or co-created shows by/with: José Capela (mala voadora), Cláudia Lucas Chéu & Albano Jerónimo (TN21), Catarina Vieira & Solange Freitas, David Marques, Tiago Cadete, Luís Araújo (TEP-Teatro Experimental do Porto and Ao Cabo Teatro with Nuno Cardoso), Ricardo Neves-Neves (Teatro do Eléctrico), which were performed mainly in Portugal (Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, Teatro Carlos Alberto, Teatro Virgínia, Centro Cultural de Belém, Teatro da Politécnica, Mala Voadora, Teatro do Campo Alegre, Centro Cultural Vila Flor, Teatro São Luiz, Fundação Caixa Geral de Depósitos – Culturgest), but also abroad, in Tel Aviv and Rio de Janeiro. TIago Pinhal Costa participated in festival such as Temps d’Image (Lisbon) and FITEI (Porto). He represented Portugal at the UTE (Union of the Theatres of Europe) and Creative Europe Moscow masterclass, which was co-produced by the Moscow Maly Theatre and the Rostov Gorky Theatre, and directed by Alexandru Darie, the technical director at the Bulandra Theatre, Bucharest.
