Francisca Castro obtained her BA in Fine Arts from the Fine Arts School in Caldas da Rainha (Polytechnic Institute of Leiria). She has an MA in Visual Arts Education.
Throughout her academic career, she attended several workshops in Scenography, with Professor José Manuel Castanheira, and, from the very first one, she found the profession to be fascinating. That led her to decide, when she finished her MA, to do an internship in Valencia, at a scenographic painting studio. At the studio, Atelier Sfumato – Pintura Y Modelado Escénico, she collaborated in projects for several theatres in Spain, before returning to Portugal in 2015.
After coming back, she collaborated in projects with Professor José Manuel Castanheira and is currently teaching arts at Colégio do Ramalhão, while doing scenography for the Companhia de Teatro da Smup.
