Inês Mota
Scenographer

Inês Mota was born in Porto in 1995. In 2016, she graduated from ESMAE, Porto, with a Bachelor’s degree in Scenography. She nurtures a great desire to know the world which led her to Brescia, Italy, for an Erasmus semester at Libera Accademia di Belle Arti; to Leeds, UK, for six months in 2017, as an intern at the Red Ladder Theatre Company; and to Lyon, France where she attends a Master’s degree in Scenography at ENSATT since September 2019.

Before moving to Lyon, she worked as an intern for a year at the Department of Props and Sets at ESMAE, under the guidance of Marta Silva, having had the opportunity of being assistant set designer for the opera “La Donna di Genio Volubile”, staged by António Durães.

Professionally, she has collaborated with Funâmbula_Grupo Criativo, Público Reservado, Emílio Gomes e Renata Portas, and Clube de Teatro da Escola Básica da Gafanha da Encarnação, coordinated by Madalena Melo. She had the opportunity to see her work presented in Sala de Bolso da ASSéDIO Teatro, Teatro Municipal do Porto – Campo Alegre, Teatro Carlos Alberto, Fábrica das Ideias da Gafanha da Nazaré, Casa da Cultura de Ílhavo, Serralves em Festa (2013, 2019), Prague’s Quadrennial (2015, 2019).
