Joana Gomes
Set Designer, Costume Designer, Decorator, Producer

Born in Lisbon, studied Theatre Design and Production Crafts at Northbrook College Sussex, in the United Kingdom. In 2005, she started in Portugal, as a Costume Designer with the play “Borralhona” for Grupo de Teatro Terapêutico – GTT (Therapeutic Theatre Group), she’s still the Costume Designer to highlight “A Nossa Quinta”, “Metastasipolis”, “Noturnos”, “Casulo” by João Silva. She started as GTT Producer in 2011 and has remained so.

Also in theater, she was the Scenographer and Costume designer for Companhia Animateatro in “Lupis, Jacas e Lupões”, “Pinóquia”, “Natal dos Pequeninos”. She worked as an Assistant Scenographer in projects like “As Bodas de Figaro”, “Não se Ganha, Não Paga”, “Os Táxis d’Nossos Dias” and “Sax Tenor”.

Started in Television in 2006, collaborating as Scenographer and Set Decorator with Anabela Santos, Rui Francisco and Maurício Rohlfs from Globo, refering Morangos com Açúcar”, “Vila Faia”, “Cidade Despida”, “Depois do Adeus”, “Alma e Coração”, “Alguém Perdeu”, “Golpe de Sorte”, etc. Participation as a Set Decorator in: “Paixão”, “Espelho de Água”, “Amor Maior”, “Rainha das Flores” , “Coração D’ Ouro”, “Mar Salgado”, “Sinais de Vida” and in the documentary“ Quem Vai à Guerra ”.
Participates as an Assistant Art Director for Dorina’s the advertising campaign.
